Boston is best-known architecturally for the Federal style that was all but invented in the city. Yet a plethora of styles has proliferated since way back in yonder days of British colonial rule: Greek Revival, Colonial, Second Empire, Colonial Revival, Queen Anne, Stick, Shingle, etc. The apartment search website RENTCafé created an image-heavy slideshow illuminating these myriad architectural styles found in Boston, starting with Italianate back in the 1700s.
