We told you this morning that foreclosures were up annually in October throughout Massachusetts. Drilling down a little bit more through the magic of PDF, we learn that in Boston proper the number of foreclosure auctions was down over 80 percent annually in October, though the number of foreclosure deeds (a later stage in the march to losing a house) was up 1,300 percent. No foreclosure deeds were recorded in Cambridge in October (same as in October 2010); and in Somerville the number was up 200 percent (there was a similar jump in Everett). More city-by-city/town-by-town breakdown here. [Banker and Tradesman]
