The Curbed Boston Cup, our (first) annual award to the Hub neighborhood of the year, is kicking off with 16 'hoods vying for the prestigious fake trophy. This week we'll have two match-ups per day, and all the results and the full tourney bracket will be reviewed on Friday. Voting for each pairing ends in the wee hours the next morning. And, now, more eliminations!
Two of Boston's smallest neighborhoods are hosting a couple of its biggest developments in a long while. On Hudson and Kingston streets, the neighboring Leather District and Chinatown should get 585 rentals and condos in the coming year or two (or three), part of a wave of apartment construction sweeping the city's choicer areas.
Though a bear for parking, the twins Allston and Brighton offer some of the choicer real estate bargains in town—which is probably why (no, definitely why) we named them earlier this month as one of our Top 5 Starter Neighborhoods for first-time homebuyers. Also, the area could any day now have its own Occupy!
