Davis, Porter Angst Re: Red Line; Salem Craigslist Scam Arrest

1) Retailers north of Harvard Square have had it with the T's winter weekend shutdowns, which arrived just in time to strangle holiday shopping. "Not only are businesses grousing, but so are workers who rely on the Red Line. For Cady Hrasky, a 20-year-old waitress at the Joshua Tree Bar and Grill in Somerville, steps from the Davis stop, the switch has been 'miserable.'" [Globe]

2) A 34-year-old Salem man was arrested hiding in his girlfriend's closet for allegedly running an apartment scam through Craigslist. "A newly engaged couple, a single mother with three children, and a woman who dipped into her 401(k) to get money for the initial deposit were among those who believed they had rented the apartment." [Globe]

3) About a dozen Occupy JP demonstrators marched through Jamaica Plain on Sunday, waving flags and chanting "We are the 99 percent" and the like. Meanwhile, Occupy Boston in Dewey Square continued its standoff with the Menino administration, this time over plans to erect a winterized tent. Drama. [Gazette and Boston.com]
