And now a word from our trencherman cousin, Eater Boston, on the culinary goings-on across the Hub.
CAMBRIDGE—Eater speaks with the manager of Bondir for the second installment of Gatekeepers, our interview series with the people that stand between you and the hardest won reservations in town. When Bon Appetit named Bondir one of the ten best new restaurants of 2011 in the U.S., things got crazy.
TBD—O Ya talent will soon be opening a late night ramen pop-up (temporary restaurant) and even promises friendly prices. What could be better? Industry testing begins this weekend, opening dates and locations have yet to be announced.
NORTH END—Mare is now closed, but the restaurant plans to reopen as the re-conceptualized Mare Oyster Bar in February. What with Neptune, that means two oyster bars for a neighborhood better known for cannoli.
EAST BOSTON—The Chicago-based Potbelly Sandwich Shop is making its first foray into New England with an upcoming location at Logan. The news was leaked after a job posting appeared on Craigslist, which also said that there would be "shops," as in more than one.
