When Will 15 Commonwealth Avenue Settle?

Remember the summer of 2009? Death panels, The Hangover, the Victor Martinez trade. That's the same time, too, that the monarchical mansion at 15 Commonwealth Avenue in Back Bay hit the market for $15,900,000. One thousand, twenty-one days later, it's still there, making it by far the oldest listing in Boston above $10M (Tom Brady's penthouse nearby has nothing on this one). Perhaps the owner knows what the townhouse has to offer and doesn't want to settle (we've all been there). Its five floors include not only seven marble fireplaces, but the potential for several bedrooms and not a few studies. Indeed, the fourth floor alone, as we pointed out in November, offers the chance for 10 bedrooms. At this point, though, we imagine it's a pride thing. It's been out there so long, what's another Sox season?
