Finale Shutters Brookline Location; Morton's May Move

BEACON HILL —For a burrito joint in a gas station, Villa Mexico has gotten quite the attention this week. The eatery was set to lose its location, was denied a request to relocate, and realized it couldn't afford the move anyway. But then, thanks to a grassroots fund-raising campaign, it raised the necessary cash, and its future is now looking good.

BROOKLINEFinale, a cafe best known for its desserts, has closed one of its three locations in Coolidge Corner. As an employee told a local paper, "It didn't end up being the right property for us." Locations in Harvard Square and the Park Plaza remain operational.

BACK BAYMorton's steakhouse has stood on Boylston for 24 years, but the restaurant is now eyeing the former Borders space in Back Bay which has become vacant due to that whole e-reader thing. The new location would offer outdoor seating, but let's not think about that for a few months.
