Brandeis, Again with the President's House Sale

Brandeis University—for the second time—has unloaded its president's house. The 6-BR, 4.5-BA Colonial on Beaumont Avenue traded for $2,060,000 after about five months on the market and for $190,000 less than its last asking. The 5,594-square-foot manse, dating from 1910 and capacious enough to host parties with dozens of guests, is a beaut for sure. How beaut? So beaut the university bought it back in July 1994 for $850,000, after selling it to Legal Sea Foods chief Roger Berkowitz four years earlier for $200K less (my, how Hub prices have changed, eh?). A rep for Brandeis tells The Herald's Greg Turner that the university has no plans to buy the house again.
