JAMAICA PLAIN—The city O.K.'d the sometimes-controversial 161 South Huntington Avenue project, which will bring 196 apartments to the neighborhood: "Olmsted Place ... replaces the former location of the Home for Little Wanderers. The 253,000-square-foot complex will have a 4-story and 5-story component with a unit mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedrooms." [Biz Journal]

SOMERVILLE—The city is not clucking around when it comes to being a leader in locavorism: "The Board of Aldermen has approved what the city is touting as the first urban agriculture ordinance in the state. The measure, coupled with new regulations adopted Sept. 20 by the Board of Health, establish formal rules for farming in the city, including the cultivation of produce for sale, and keeping chickens and honey bees." FENWAY/KENMORE—B.U. got the city's O.K. for its $172 million law school expansion off Commonwealth: "Construction of an addition to the B.U. Law building named for media exec Sumner Redstone, who donated $18 million to the project, will start this winter and be finished in the fall of 2015." [Herald]
