Harvard Details Construction Marathon in Allston

Here we go! We told you this time last week that fair Harvard was going to drop details of its Allston expansion, and the school has done just that. The school details its planned 3,000-seat basketball arena; its expanded football stadium; its 250,000-square-foot hotel and conference center; its 200,000-square-foot academic and administrative offices; a four-building science complex; and so much more—all in a kind of mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly paradise loosely modeled on Davis Square. (The school has issued a handy, though slow-loading PDF of the plans.)

Know this, though: It's a tentative 10-year plan, meaning that it will likely turn the 180 acres or so of Allston into a major construction site well into the next decade. Go, Crimson, go hard.
