Cambridge Apt. Rent Increases; Lovejoy Wharf's Missing Piece

NORTH END—A rejuvenated Lovejoy Wharf apparently depends on signing the maker of Chuck Taylors: "The Beal Cos. and the Related Cos. presented plans on Wednesday to jumpstart Lovejoy Wharf in Boston with a combination of condominiums and office space. But the development is dependent on signing Converse, the North Andover-based sneaker giant, to about 200,000 square feet of space in the waterfront development." [Biz Journal]

CAMBRIDGE—Our first reaction was: that's it? "According to the Cambridge Community Development Department, the median price for a one-bedroom apartment increased from around $1,400 to $2,000 a month from 2000 to 2011 – a 43 percent increase. For three-bedroom apartments, median rents increased from roughly $2,000 to $3,000, or 33 percent, in the same time period." [Chronicle]
