Wynn Antes Up in Everett; Cambridge Best for Sellers; More!

EVERETT—He would, of course, be competing directly with Suffolk Downs in Eastie for the sole casino resort license of Greater Boston: "Casino mogul Steve Wynn has secured a 14-month lease on the former Monsanto chemical factory, and plans to submit an application to the state gambling commission to build a $1 billion casino there, Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr. said Tuesday." MASS.-WIDE—It's the 19th straight month pending home sales rose, according to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors: "Single-family homes put under agreement last month were up 28 percent, while pending condo deals were up 28.5 percent compared to a year ago." [Herald]

Out of 142 total metros analyzed, the Boston metro ranked 70th on the list of best buyers' markets—roughly right in the middle of the pack, indicating a fairly level playing field for both buyers and sellers alike."
