Boston's Priciest New Listing Outside of Back Bay, Beacon Hill

The South End won last year's Curbed Boston Cup going away (and, so far, it looks in the running to repeat!). Listings like this don't hurt its chances: The 5,800-square-foot, antebellum townhouse at 17 Union Park has hit the market for $5,250,000, making it the priciest new Boston listing in the last month outside of usual suspects Beacon Hill and Back Bay. The 5-BR, 4.5-BA townhouse, with sauna and wine cellar, last traded way back in July 1998 for $1,090,000. And before that? $410,000 in October 1994.* Sigh.
