SOUTH BOSTON—Zipcar is splitting Cambridge for the Innovation District: "Zipcar said it will move to 35 Thomson Place and occupy all six floors of the 46,000 square foot building. Zipcar has been headquartered in Cambridge since the company was founded in 2000." [Boston.com]

CAMBRIDGE—M.I.T. has some fresh ideas for its Kendall Square expansion. The university has "presented a new plan with twice as much residential development, an emphasis on green passageways, a livelier streetscape and a financial commitment to a community benefit fund that was directly lifted from the city's planning study."
