New Plan at 300 Mass. Ave.; Kudos for 290 Congress

CAMBRIDGE—Developer Forest City is back at 300 Mass. Ave. with basically the same plan that left a lot of people unhappy the first go-round: "After a roughly four month hiatus, Forest City will be back in front of the Cambridge City Council with a zoning petition to build to a 250,000 square-foot office and lab building for Millennium Pharmaceuticals, the Takeda Oncology Center, at 300 Massachusetts Avenue." FINANCIAL DISTRICT—The 31-story commercial-residential hybrid at 290 Congress Street has hit a milestone: "The Urban Land Institute has awarded the developer its Global Award for Excellence for development of the 1.2 million square-foot mixed-use project that restored a historic structure on Boston's waterfront and incorporated a new skyscraper with office, residential and retail space." That means it's LEED Platinum, thank you very much. [Biz Journal]
