The Family-Friendly $4.199M Marlborough Manse

This 4-BR, 5-BA townhouse on Marlborough Street chopped its price last winter by $301K (we speculated then that it was because the elevator doesn't go to the top floor nor roof deck). It's still on the market for $4,199,000, and still offers gobsmackingly gorgeous details in its interior, including high ceilings, hardwood floors and working fireplaces in the bedrooms. It's also got what on the lower level it calls an "ideal au paire suite." (What's with all the au paire suits lately? Is this Boston's new definition of family-friendly housing?). The townhouse last sold in April 2004 for $2,800,000.
