Where to Eat at Fenway; Somerville's New Barbecue

The weekly check-in with our culinary cousin, Eater Boston.

FENWAY—In honor of opening day, here's a guide to eating in and around Fenway Park. Highlights include lobster rolls from the Fish Shack on Yawkey Way and of course Fenway Franks. And what says play ball more than than some hot pot ostrich? See here for a guide to eating at TD Garden.
DORCHESTER—The Neponset Circle bar Ups N Downs was closed in February after a violent incident that left seven injured, but almost 100 loyal patrons have banded together to insist that the city keep it open. They say it's just like Cheers: the one on the show, not the ones for tourists.
SOMERVILLE—This summer a barbecue catering business will go brick-and-mortar with the opening of The Bearded Pig in Union Square. Expect traditional, Southern-style counter service, complete with banana pudding for dessert.
TBD—After opening 294 shops around the world, the British cafe chain Pret A Manger has set its sights on Boston. Where and when we don't yet know, but it's coming. What took them so long?
