Here comes our foodie cousin, Eater Boston, for his weekly word on Hub restaurants and nightlife.
HUB-WIDE—Glorious as the local dining scene is, everyone knows that a giant, invisible schoolmarm descends upon Boston each night to enforce lights out at an absurdly early hour for a city this cool. However there are a handful of dedicated restaurants serving late-night eats around town: here's a map to help you make it through the long, hungry night.
FANEUIL HALL—Yikes! Celeb chef Todd English is being sued for a million bucks in unpaid rent for his recently closed restaurant Kingfish Hall. The Globe calls this "the latest crack in his restaurant empire." And here's some stuff English recently said to make it sound like he wasn't up a certain kind of creek.
DOWNTOWN—Giants of the food media world like Guy Fieri, Gordon Ramsay and Top Chef are all popping around town at the same time: now. Fieri has been spotted filming his show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives at establishments like Cutty's in Brookline and Top Chef will be holding a showdown featuring former contestant Tiffani Faison of Sweet Cheeks in front of Quincy Market next week.
SOUTH BOSTON WATERFRONT—For the latest installment of The Gatekeepers, Eater spoke with Del Frisco's general manager Gregg Rinaldi about keeping order in one of the city's biggest, most happenin' restaurants. Apparently the name leads a lot of people to think the steakhouse is a pasta joint.
