Back Bay Bombshell! Burrage Palace Asks Less Than in '04

The kitchen alone should stimulate even the most glassy-eyed wealth-porn addict. It's large enough for a table that sits at least six, a sitting area, and an island, all beneath soaring ceilings in a sunny atrium. The rest of the 4,182 square feet in this parlor-level condo at the Burrage House has four bedrooms; three and a half bathrooms; exquisite 19th-century details, including marble fireplaces and Ionic columns (the Burrage House's architect was Charles Brigham, who also helped design the Museum of Fine Arts and the First Church of Christ, Scientist); two parking spaces; and wood, wood, wood. Perhaps the most striking feature of this brand-new listing, though, is the tag: a formidable $4,500,000, which is actually less than what the condo last traded for ($4,618,540) way back in August 2004.
