The Economist tries on theories as to why there are still real estate brokers but barely any travel agents left. One idea? That, like in Boston, most brokers do few deals, no matter how it looks: "They set high fees, which lure ever more people into the profession... These agents waste time competing with each other for the exclusive right to sell each home, sapping productivity." [Economist]
