Newton Tomato Man Finds Salvation; Inman Square Sinks

NEWTON—Well, thank the gods, huh? "Newton city officials had warned Eli Katzoff—the creative force behind the 13-foot tall hanging tomato garden—that he had to start removing the structure from his front yard near Route 9 by Friday. Late on Thursday, Katzoff landed a new home for his garden: the Andover Newton Theological School." [Boston.com]

CAMBRIDGE—Part of Inman Square sank: "It started out as a sinkhole about the size of a manhole cover. I first saw it around 6 pm yesterday when it was being blocked by two Public Works pickup trucks. By 9:30 (when I took the photo) they upgraded to orange cones and caution tape." [The Hub]
