Menino's New Phrase for Economic Development; More!

BOSTON—From the mayor who brought you the "Innovation District" comes "Relationship Leadership." "Critics may say we have an overly personal approach to economic development in Boston, but I think it's one of our great strengths. In Boston, the relationship message comes from the top." [Huff Post]

SOMERVILLE— The $9.8M transformation of the old Saint Polycarp parish in Winter Hill into a mixed-use development continued today with a ribbon-cutting on the second leg: "This is the second of three phases of new construction on the site and includes 29 affordable rental units within three four-story buildings. The buildings are centered around a courtyard and include a community room and playground." (Polycarp's the patron saint of earaches, by the way, in case the construction noise bothers neighbors.) [Biz Journal]
SOUTH END—The Herald's Jessica Van Sack had an adventure in the Boston housing market, beginning with selling her family's apartment: "Our condo was a quaint two-bedroom, but hardly opulent. Yet our first and only open house drew a line down the street, landing us two offers that day, one at full price." [Herald]
