All North End Edition! A Dog Park Finally; Parents Freaked Out

We're taking a summer Friday. See you bright and surly Monday morning!

NORTH END—Christopher Columbus Park has some issues that are making parents understandably skittish: "More troubling were puddles that appeared to be urine, and a razor blade and blood inside the play structure. The Boston Parks and Recreation Department power-washed the structure and removed the sand that appeared to contain urine, and the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park bought 12 tons of new sand to replace it. NORTH END—Boston Parks and Rec Commissioner Antonia Pollak and the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association have talked about fixing what's become a noxious problem in the neighborhood's parks. "The discussion quickly focused on the creation of at least one dog park in the North End/Waterfront community. Commissioner Pollak said the city is looking to work with organized groups of residents and abutters." [NorthEndWaterFront.com]
