BROOKLINE - Coolidge Corner just got more fun. Hops N Scotch is now open for business in what was formerly a Finale on Beacon Street and is now pouring from a massive selection of craft beers, scotch and bourbon. The 124-seat restaurant and bar officially cracked its doors open on Wednesday and plans to keep things hoppin' (and scotchin') till 2am.
CHINATOWN - After being closed for renovations for over half a year, neighborhood favorite Taiwan Cafe is once again open, and with new fish tanks, no less! The Oxford Street restaurant reopened on Tuesday, and no, the fish tanks aren't just for looking at.
JAMAICA PLAIN - Despite tons of buzz for the newish Tonic on Washington Street, Ryan Kelly has left his first executive chef gig there. The Clio alum cites "culinary differences."
BACK BAY/KENDALL SQUARE - Hot news from the department of soon-to-open! Belly Wine Bar + Charcuterie from The Blue Room and Central Bottle team plans to open in Kendall Square in early September, and Rocca replacement Cinquecento is shooting to debut in the South End a tad later, in the middle of next month. And that's going to be a huge deal, given the history of that (some would say "cursed") space.
