Ferries and More

Many East Boston developers let out a collective sigh of relief after the announcement of ferry service among waterfront neighborhoods. The Clippership Wharf, Portside at Pier One, Hodge Boiler Works, and New Street Development projects have all stalled, but would bring 1181 residential units if built. Lawrence Curtis of Winn Development is only a little bit relieved. “When we build the building, the ferry service will be a great thing, but doesn’t solve the big issue of making the development viable, we are close, but we are not there yet,” he said.
