East Boston — Eastie residents are up in arms about recent rumors that a proposed market rate project on the waterfront is changing to an affordable housing development. The rumor is that East Boston Community Development Corporation and its partner Trinity Financial couldn't secure funding for the project and are now looking to low-income housing tax credits and Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants. Residents want the city to send the waterfront project for the Boston East Site back out to bid because it has changed so dramatically. [Eastie Times] Brenda Phan
