When last we checked in with the 4-BR, 2.5-BA, elevator-accessed penthouse at 172 Beacon Street, it was April and it had slashed its price by $249,000. Hefty, yes, but, as we noted then, not enough to place it among the year's biggest price-chops so far. The latest cut, $150K a couple of days ago, doesn't earn a spot there, either (no, $150K seems downright paltry in an annus of $1.4M and $800K price-chops). The latest reduction leaves the 3,240-square-foot spread at an even $3,600,000 about a week shy of 200 days on the market.
