Construction for the ballyhooed 471-apartment Ink Block at Harrison Avenue and Herald Street in the South End is expected to get under way in the early spring (demolition on what's there now, the old Boston Herald headquarters, is expected to start as early as February). Meanwhile, you may have noticed a new billboard atop the Herald headquarters. It says "Think Ink" and it's exactly what you, um, think it is: an attempt to foment buzz about the project, which will also include 85,000 square feet of retail, not least a freaking Whole Foods. (That makes two new supermarkets in previously undernourished neighborhoods.)
