Cambridge's Priciest New Listing Looks Familiar

The 4-BR, 3.5-BA Georgian Revival at 28 Buckingham Street, a mile or so from Harvard Square, is on the market for $2,795,000—or, we should say, back on the market.

The 3,456-square-foot manse, with a two-car garage and a conservatory with 17-foot ceilings, last traded way back in March 2006 for $2,810,000; then went back on in March 2013 for $3,000,000 even. It disappeared from the market come July, however, only now reappearing at the much-pared price (what was that about Hub sellers not getting the prices they want these days?).

The $2.795 million tag still makes 28 Buckingham far and away the priciest new listing in Cambridge; the next closest comer is the 4-BR, 3.5-BA at 72 Lexington Avenue asking a paltry $2,500,000.
