Five Figures Over Asking on Marlborough Street

The 1-BR, 1-BA Unit 3 at 80 Marlborough Street just down from the Common last sold in April 2003 for $610,000. One Great Recession and one sputtering recovery later, and it's traded again after barely 40 days on the market.

The closing sales price was $771,000, a full $42,000 over its last listing of $729,000. Such is the way in the Boston condo market (though not as much anymore!). The 872-square-foot spread came with two fireplaces, in-unit W/D, and central air. And lots and lots of hardwood and natural light.
