On Tuesday, we toured Greater Boston's most dictatorial listings, those spreads asking more than $10,000 a month. These include the 8,450-square-foot Benjamin Mansion with its lap pool on the roof and the penthouse at 1166 Washington Avenue, which includes 1,200 square feet of view-tastic outdoor space. Then there are dwellings like this West End number from apartment-sharing site Airbnb.
The bedroom pictured above is part of a 2-BR apartment near TD Garden listed on Airbnb earlier this fall. For $1,000 a night, plus a $600 security deposit and a $100 upfront cleaning fee, you would get said room as well as access to the in-building laundry as well as to the in-apartment "big-screen TV" and kitchen. Fair? Who are we to judge? (You can judge, though, through the comments button to the upper right.)
This Airbnb ad is a reminder that for every earnest listing out there for by-the-year-or-more apartments, there's a quicker number or three shadowing it. Seen any others on Airbnb, Craigslist and the like? Let us know via the always-discreet Curbed Boston Tipline.
