FORT POINT—Sportello is squashing its bakery program to make way for a wine bar, more seating, and a greater focus on "serving incredible Italian dishes." Neighborhood office workers who thrive on the baked goods and lunch boxes should get their last fixes by November 22nd.

KENDALL SQUARE—Here's a look inside Commonwealth, the just-opened restaurant and market from Steve "Nookie" Postal, former executive chef at Fenway Park. Nookie has been sending hilarious and heartbreaking weekly dispatches to Eater Boston about the process of opening a restaurant — two restaurants, actually. He also has a Jewish barbecue spot called Steinbones in the works for summer 2014.
