Back in warm, warm April, the duplex at 340 Beacon Street hit the sales market for one buck shy of $3,000,000. It seemed a sure bet in this go-go Boston condo market: recently renovated; three bedrooms and two and a half baths; wrought-iron staircase; Charles River views, including from a balcony; exposed beams to swoon over.
Alas, the bet was not so sure: Unit 2/3 at 340 Beacon has chopped its price by nearly $250,000—and when we type "by nearly," we mean by just one buck shy of the magic quadrant. The duplex is now asking a happily even $2,750,000.
