Where Whales Eat and Drink; Sel De La Terre Closes

Here's the latest from Eater Boston. Delicious!

WHALE WEEK—All week Eater Boston has been in full-blown big spender mode as we celebrate Whale Week. Take your pick from a map of the most expensive dishes in town, a guide to the best places to spot high rollers, an interview with the head concierge at The Langham, an interview with a gentleman who's been hitting the local club scene for forty years, the sixty minute deluge that was Champagne Power Hour, tales of the city's priciest bottles and so much more!

BACK BAY—Suddenly and without warning, longtime French stalwart Sel de la Terre vanished from Boston. The restaurant closed on Monday just months after the original location did the same.

TBD—This is huge: Menton alum chef Jason Doo has announced his plans to open a high end Chinese restaurant called Kinsai. Check that link for a list of tantalizing dishes served at his two preview dinners.

CHESTNUT HILL/SOMERVILLE—Two other closures were announced this week: Charley's in the Mall at Chestnut Hill and the Holiday Inn nightclub Night Games.
