HUB-WIDE—Boston has a solid showing among the newly announced semifinalists for the 2013 James Beard Foundation awards, aka "The Oscars of Food." Fourteen local chefs, restaurants and restaurateurs have made it thus far: see here for that list.

CAMBRIDGE—Food trucks are getting restaurants and restaurants are getting food trucks! Kendall Square favorite Area Four is going mobile with its own truck, food truck Mei Mei Street Kitchen will open a restaurant called Mei Mei, and the food truck Bon Me is now serving from its own brick-and-mortar in Kendall Square.

BACK BAY—Ken Oringer flagship Clio has fired its executive chef after Douglas Rodrigues was arrested for stabbing a fellow patron at the Beacon Street bar Crossroads. While controversial regardless, it may have been an accident.
