The trade in late June 2012 of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen's Beacon Street penthouse closed one of the most salivated-over real estate stories in recent Boston memory. The 3-BR, 3.5-BA, 5,311-square-foot spread had been on and off the market since 2009, for prices as high as nearly $11,000,000 and never below $10,500,000.
Initial reports, here and elsewhere, pegged the final sales price at $9,200,000. Not quite: It was $9,271,000. That's, of course, way below the last asking of $10,500,000, but such is the way of things in luxury Boston and nothing to hide one's face over—especially when one has a 22,000-square-foot mansion in L.A. to come home to now. And we also think the staggering $1,745 a square foot at 310 Beacon Street is satisfaction enough. Happy snow day.
