Find Out What's Inside Box No. 15 on Clifton Street!

On Monday, it was the modernist curiosity at 19 Clifton Street in North Cambridge. Today, it's a similarly boxy construct down the street at No. 15.

The 1,800-square-foot house at 15 Clifton was built on the site of an old one in 2005, and designed by the same architectural team behind 19 Clifton, Beat Schenk and Chaewon Kim. The married pair lived in the house during its renovation/construction. As Schenk explained to Dwell magazine: "Demolition was a nightmare. We kept finding layer upon layer of wallpaper and paint. We hauled out eight and a half tons of debris. The neighbors kept seeing Dumpsters and they couldn't imagine how so much stuff could come out of such a little house."

The finished product has two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms (and two parking spaces and a yard); and takes the airiness very, very seriously. There are six floor-to-ceiling windows total on the two upper levels (there's a basement); and a bathtub in one of the bedrooms, sans divider. Fifteen Clifton last traded in April 2008 for $599,000, and is listed now through Keller Williams for just $900 more.
