Boston of late has had a slew of new listings asking more than $5,000,000 (heck, more than $7,000,000!). Add 18 Marlborough Street to the mix.
The 5,586-square-foot, 6-BR, 4.5-BA townhouse with an elevator and bones from the 1860s just hit the market for what looks like the second time since October 2011, when it last traded for $3,200,000. This time it's asking $7,900,000, making it one of the priciest listings in Boston (though not the priciest on that stretch of Marlborough). Yet, rather than throwing the doors open to show off its opulence, all we get from listing brokerage Campion & Company is two cryptic exterior photos. That, and the asking price was $4,700,000 in August 2012, a month before the listing was removed. Weird.
