Still Searching for Cambridge's Real Apartment Rents

New, 3 comments

Given even officialdom's difficulties in nailing down hard numbers, our deep-dive into the real rents of Cambridge is still very much open. A reader emails:

[W]e pay $1,700 for an 800 sq ft one-bedroom, mid-2000s construction, in Cambridge Highlands near the Belmont line. Improbably, that rent has not been raised since our lease started in 2011—could be because we're renting from an individual condo owner and not a management company, I'm not sure. If he put it on the market again today, I have no doubt that he could get $2,000. Got thoughts on what the real rents in the People's Republic are?
