It's no small feat, given the amount of mega-listings and mega-deals this year. The 3,905-square-foot, 4-BR, 4.5-BA spread overlooking the Common at 50 Beacon Street hit the market for $6,700,000 back in October 2012.
In a deal that closed Tuesday, the condo, listed by Beth Dickerson of Gibson Sotheby's, traded for $600,000 less than that. Still, that $6,100,000 makes Unit 3 at the Amory, with its eat-in kitchen and wet bar in the family room, Boston's second-biggest condo deal of 2013 so far. The only one that bests it? By our count, that $6,500,000 monster at the Clarendon on Stuart Street back in January. Unit 3 last traded, by the way, for a mere $5,000,000 in December 2008. Back then, it was chopped a cool $850K right before the trade.
