BACK BAY—The Boston Public Library off Copley should soon look quite different: "Mayor Thomas M. Menino vowed Wednesday to begin the transformation of the main library in Copley Square before he leaves City Hall, saying the granite facade of the Johnson Building will be replaced with glass to open it to Boylston Street." SOMERVILLE—The groundbreaking is set for Thursday for the last block of the first phase of Assembly Row: "100,000 Square Feet of Class A office space, 30,000 Square Feet of retail space. Construction progressing on schedule: six-acre waterfront park to open this summer, residential to begin pre-lease, new Orange Line T station to open summer 2014, shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues to celebrate grand opening spring 2014."
