Alan Dershowitz Rules in Cambridge Now

On Tuesday, we told you about the $3,500,000 trade of former Governor William Weld's old Fayerweather Street manse. Before it was price-chopped by $2,000,000, the 8-BR, 4.5-BA, 6,755-square-foot landmark was the priciest listing in Cambridge.

The title of priciest in Cambridge was wrested, however, long ago from the ex-governor and former wife Susan Roosevelt. Mild-mannered trial lawyer (and Harvard prof) Alan Dershowitz listed his 3-BR, 3.5-BA house, lap pool included, for $3,950,000 back in October 2012. Dershowitz and wife Carolyn Cohen decided to decamp to New York for retirement, and have no need of the 5,451-square-foot spread bought way back in 1990 for $1.15 million.
