The city is renovating and repainting the Cochituate Standpipe, the Gothic spire in Roxbury that "opened at a turning point in the city's history, as the availability of new public water and sewer systems lured surrounding towns into joining Boston." Perhaps the redone landmark will draw more visitors to the neighborhood. [Globe]
