$3M-Plus Was a Lot of Money Once in the Boston Market

Way, way back in January 2012 we ran down the most expensive Boston listings outside of Beacon Hill and Back Bay. Predictably, most were on the waterfront or in a handful of buildings.

Unit 28B, a 3-BR, 4.5-BA palace in the sky at 1 Avery Street (a.k.a. the Ritz-Carlton Residences), was one such listing. It was asking $3,295,000, which, in today's market might not even cause an eyebrow-raise but nearly a year and a half ago was quite a lot of cabbage. In a deal that closed just last week, the 2,667-square-foot condo with two valeted parking spaces, listed by Kathleen Cook at Atlantic Associates, traded for $3,162,500. Not bad.
