Meet Cambridge's Most Expensive Listing

New, 2 comments

It's been a while since Cambridge has had a listing this pricey. In fact, we might have to go back to September 2011, when 28 Fayerweather Street, the home of William Weld when he was governor in the 1990s, was listed for a cool $5,500,000 (it was eventually slashed on down to its April closing price of $3,500,000).

Enter now the 6,134-square-foot Italianate manse at 1 Berkeley Street just off Harvard Square. It has six bedrooms; five full baths and two halves; coffered and cove ceilings; six fireplaces; two decks; a media room (or a playroom, your call); a two-car garage; and a partially finished basement. It last traded for $2,500,000 in June 1998. Listed by Hammond Real Estate, it wants $5,800,000 now. What say you?
