As you go about the gray morning, take with you sunny images of this newly listed estate in Newton's Auburndale village.
Or maybe not. The 6,586-square-foot manse off the 17th fairway of the Woodland Country Club just hit the market through William Montero of Warren Residential. It's got what you'd expect: 17 rooms total, including four bedrooms; original detailing going back to its Jazz Age construction, including an original stone wall amongst the 20,200-plus square feet of land; and a brick facade capped by a slate roof (and just look at that sun room on a day like this!).
But! The spread also has more than 2,100 square feet of new construction—old school meets new. The whole shebang at 115 Aspen Avenue last traded for just $961,140 back in December 2002. It wants $3,575,000. As hefty as that tag might seem, we must point out that that doesn't even place it anywhere near the 10 priciest in Newton right now (the priciest being the 7,544-square-foot mansion at 134 Chestnut Hill Road, which wants $6,400,000). So, you know, doable.
