When last we checked in on Unit 5 at 70-72 Mount Vernon Street, it had just undergone one of the biggest price-chops of 2012: a gong-rattling $755,000.
The former art studio, lofty enough for five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, and with direct elevator access, huge skylights and as many as five parking spaces, apparently thwacked its price one last time, from $3,995,000 to $3,710,000, where it closed at on Tuesday. Not bad, considering that the listing from Daniel A. Mullin frankly admits that the 4,035-square-foot spread, with bones in the mid-19th century, "needs renovation." It hadn't been on the market since 1970, after all. Groovy.
