Let's Pretend We're Having Port in This Exeter Street Cellar

This four-story townhouse at 9 Exeter Street hit the sales market on Monday. It last traded back in June 2001 for $2,250,000.

The 6,091-square-foot palace now wants $7,750,000 through Beth Dickerson at Gibson Sotheby's. Along with the fabulously redolent wine cellar, one gets bones from the 1860s; five bedrooms; five bathrooms; a private deck off the kitchen; a full basement; radiant heat; and a garaged parking space as well as two on the street. Perhaps most gobsmackingly, though: It's a wide one, 30 feet to be exact, a rarity on the Boston townhouse market.
