Meet the Beacon Hill Condo Priced Like a Townhouse

New, 1 comment

Indeed, Unit 3 of 88 Beacon Street is as of late last week the seventh-priciest listing in Boston. Five of the six ahead of it are all townhouses (the only exception is a penthouse at One Charles, priced to move at $10,500,000).

The 3,857-square-foot spread listed by Robert Cohen wants $9,000,000 (it last traded in August 2007 for $5,500,000). What would one get for that? Four bedrooms; four and a half bathrooms; proximity to the Public Garden; one heck of a wine rack; private sundeck; three parking spaces; and what the listing rightfully declares a "baronial" library. Is $9,000,000 too much to ask, though, even in Boston's muscular luxury market? Let's see what happens.
