Might Greater Boston Produce Another New York Mayor?

Bill de Blasio won the Democratic primary for New York City mayor on Tuesday, instantly becoming the frontrunner in the general election against Republican Joe Lhota. De Blasio grew up in Cambridge before returning to the city where he was born to attend college at N.Y.U.; he went to high school at Cambridge Rindge and Latin; and is famously a Red Sox fan in Yankees country. Michael Bloomberg, Gotham's current mayor, is a Medford native who split as soon as he could. Anyway. Something to think about.
